Do you stretch?
Roll out sore muscles?
Get regular massage?
Chiropractic adjustments?
Cupping?
Dry needling?
I actually incorporate ALL of these modalities to keep my muscles loose, to promote recovery, and prevent injuries. If you are very active individual, and 100% definitely if you compete … then you need to be taking care of your body. If not, believe me it will talk back to you!!
For competitors : your posing will suffer big time and this could affect your placing! The most common issue I suffer from and see in my clients is overly tight upper pectoral muscles. This causes the shoulders to round forward and in, making them not look as wide as they could, therefore creating the shape /taper that I want to see on stage. As a bikini athlete, it’s also important to have flexibility in the lower back in order to hit the front and back poses properly, and in the most effective way.
So here it is, Sunday morning and I’m taking time to roll out & stretch today. It’s one of the hardest things for me!! I’m so impatient and I am always on the GO… but it’s necessary to keep those muscles loose! Here’s your reminder to do it too.
I use the @suvius_fitness peanut double roller ball with vibrating capability. It has texture and really works out the knots and tight muscles. In between my regular massage at Total Muscle Therapy , Chiropractic appointments at Camp 4 Human Performance , and other treatments, this is so helpful.
